Do you know that within the first 24- 48 hours of being on the streets a youth is approached for sex trafficking in the United States?

This is a depiction of homelessnes in Minnesota!
We need to remember that a lot of children who are homeless still attend school! What services do we offer to protect our children?
This video also shows how quickly homelessness can happen to a family, expecially with todays economy!

Think About:
When we are all running to our cars in the cold lets try to imagine what it would be like to be forced to be outside for a night... not fun!

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence effects every race, religion, culture, economic status and sex.
The video Domestic Violence Hurts Everyone gives a depiction of how it effects women today. If you are a women and being abused in Minnesota Tubman Family Alliance is a shelter that provides a safe space for women and children who are suffering domestic violence.

Everyone rember verbal abuse is can be just as harmful as violence towards a partner.

Never Too Late: Three Days Grace

Never Too Late is a song about how a young girls childhood is stolen from her due to molestation by her father. It shows how one event can create damaging effects for the future. This is sadly the truth for too many youth in society today! We need to continue to create awareness and advocate for those who do not have a voice or have had theirs taken away from them.

St. Josephs Home for Children

St. Joes is a youth shelter that is only accessible through the courts, and Child protection. A youth must have a reffearl to the shelter through their Parole officer or Cps worker.

A program of Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, St. Joe's specializes in assessment, crisis intervention and residential programming, especially for children with severe emotional and behavioral problems. St. Joe's serves children and their families from the Twin Cities area and beyond and provides central intake services for all Hennepin County children removed from their homes due to abuse or instability."

Neighborhood House

NIP

NIP (Neighborhood Involvement Program) offers professional health services to those who cannot normally afford to go to the doctor. They also have a counseling center, and a Rape and Sexual Abuse center. This agency meets the needs of the poor in the Minneapolis community and allows people to receive the medical treatment that is needed to lead a healthy life. The services are fantastic and are utilized by several homeless shelters in the Minneapolis area. They also take crisis calls from anyone who is in needs to talk about a rape or something traumatic that has occured to them. It's a fantastic resource for not only the low income, but for new college graduates who cannot afford health care.

New Life Family Services

New Life Family Services goal:"birth for the little ones, rebirth for their mothers and fathers"
New Life offers free pregnancy testing, support groups, adoption services, and is an abstenence resource center. This is a great resource for those who are pro- life!

Truth is: I was adopted from this agency, my parents were unable to have children and my biological mother was 19 when she gave birth to me. I have been truly blessed in my life because of this agency and believe it is a great resource for all.

Genesis II for Families

Genisis II mission: "To promote social change by strengthening families and the community through programs that encourage self-determination, self-sufficiency, and healthy family lifestyles" The Goal of Genisis it to re-create safe and healthy homes by improving parenting skills, eliminating child abuse, and re-unifying families.

Voices of The Homeless

This video gives a voice to the Homeless accross the United States. Often Times they just want to be heard, and sometimes its just a string of bad luck that leads to homelessness. We need to stand up and help because many homeless are working hard and still are unable to have a home to call thier own. Minumum wage does not allow a person to pay for housing and food.
